Decorating for the holidays in a small space can be challenging. You want to be festive, but small spaces can quickly go from all is calm to all is cluttered. Here’s four ideas to help you decorate your small space for the holidays.
❄️ Switch out your everyday framed photos for holiday photos, frame a card or pretty wrapping paper. Or, if you’re like me, and like a little kitsch, add Santa hats to your art or photos, like in the photo above!
❄️ Small spaces can feel overwhelmed when you pile your holiday decor on top of your normal decor. If it’s feeling crowded, pack the regular decor away for a little while. I allow myself one holiday box and I put some of my everyday things “away” in the same box during the holidays. That way, when it’s time to put the holiday stuff away, I know exactly where I put my normal decor.
❄️ Use decor or items that you already have in creative ways. This will prevent you from buying something new or having to store anything else in the future. For example, I took canisters I already have and use for storage in my pantry, then filled them with ornaments and burnt out bulbs. This could not be an easier DIY, y’all.
❄️ No mantle? No problem! I hang our stockings on the back of a chair. You could also hang them on a bookshelf or a coat rack! And I think I get bonus points for making these stockings out of old sweaters. 😉
