5 Reasons to Buy a Vintage Rug

I used to think that vintage or antique rugs were stuffy. My only experiences with seeing antique rugs were in the context of traditional homes with large, dark wooden furniture and oversized drapes. But I’m grateful for designers and bloggers who allowed me to see that vintage or antique rugs can also look modern and add unparalleled warmth to a room. If that doesn’t convince you, here’s 5 Reasons to Buy a Vintage Rug.

  1. Vintage rugs are more sustainable

Anything vintage is more sustainable because it already exists!

  1. Vintage rugs are unique

Although I admire other designers, I don’t want my home to look like anyone else’s. Vintage rugs were often handmade and almost guarantee that no one else will have anything like it.

  1. Vintage rugs are high-quality

As I said before, vintage rugs are often handmade and therefore better quality than many modern rugs. They have unparalleled ability to withstand wear and tear and even when they do get a bit worn, it just adds “character.”

  1. Vintage rugs are beautiful

Although I previously had the idea of all old rugs being very traditional, vintage rugs are incredibly varied and beautiful. I was thrilled to find a rug with bright, happy colors that met my more modern aesthetic.

  1. Vintage rugs are timeless

While rugs from a big box store may become dated in a year or two, vintage rugs have a timeless quality that will span generations. Although vintage rugs may be an investment at first, you won’t have to buy a new rug in a few years because it’ll never go out of style.

Luckily vintage rugs are now easy to buy from the comfort of your home. Revival Rugs is one of my favorite places online to purchase vintage rugs. They have a large and ever-changing inventory of beautiful rugs. They’re also currently offering 10% off your order with the code ASMALLLIFE10.

Beautiful rug! I have vintage and “modern” rugs in my house, but over the years, I have grown to love the vintage rugs more, and they are timeless.
