But today, well today is a monumental day because today, I can say we’re finally finished with out bedroom! It’s only the second room in the house that’s completely finished, so this feels like a win.
The only space to put our bed since the room is so small was in front of the window. I know that’s not ideal, but we made the best of it by building a low bed and low bedside shelving.
We were gifted with this Hanes Microfiber Down Blanket from Downlite Bedding and I’m loving it. I’m a sweaty, hot, bear of a sleeper and this thing has been keeping me cool all summer.
For storage, we bought baskets from Amazon. There’s also storage for socks and undies underneath the bed.
We reused an old dresser by painting it black and a curtain on this window adds a bit of privacy. (We have no neighbors to the back of us, so a curtain wasn’t necessary on the wall behind the bed.)
I’m not big on a lot of knick-knacks, a.k.a. dust collectors, but I do like a few items to personalize our space. These little bits and bobs sit on my side of the bed.
George and I also collaborated on this pop-art piece. I wanted something large, but I didn’t want to spend an arm and a leg on it. We found this vintage photo of a ’70s couple lounging in a heart-shaped tub and made it into art! It’s weird but I love it. Let me know if you want the DIY for it!
I’m happy to say we’re done with another room. Onto the next one!

The bedroom looks great! For a minute, I thought that was you and hubby in the bathtub picture…haha.
Haha, no, that would be even more weird!
Your bedroom looks so lovely! I also initially thought the bathtub picture was supposed to be you and George, haha.
Haha, yes, we were swingers in the ’70s. LOL.
Chachkies… Tchotchkes? Unless yours is an alternate spelling I’m not familiar with.
Love that waffle-weave blanket on the end of the bed. Your bedroom is so beautiful!
Yeah, whoops, I spelled it wrong. I usually use the word “knick-knacks”, but I wasn’t sure if anyone would know what I was talking about. I went ahead and changed it to my familiar terminology. <3
