Melanie, love the idea of this! I thought i would comment and tell you: My husband and i were so inspired by your remodel on tiny house swoon that we bought an airstream! (we’ve been wanting to “go tiny” forever but we can’t afford a $25,000 tiny house!) We’re taking it slowly on the renovations since we have 6 months till our lease is up. I did have a question: in the photos your airstream is propped up several inches off the ground: what was your reasoning behind that? To keep moisture off the tires? Do you feel like the airstream might fall over in high winds? We live in Oklahoma and the winds here can get fierce….
Hey Brittany, wow! What a compliment. Our Airstream is propped up on bricks because the ground is soft. It is mostly for stability, but it also helps the tires from becoming dry rotted. We don’t have to worry much about high winds here, but we have been through several storms just fine. Hope that helps!
