I am currently taking submissions for a new column that will feature people from around the world who embody the meaning of “living small.”
A Small Life is read by thousands of readers each day and could be a great opportunity to get your business/house/bus/life/Instagram/etc. seen!
Please send submissions to asmalllifemelanie at gmail.com. Submissions should include at least 4 photos (jpg or jpeg) that are at least 540 pixels wide. Also, please include why you embody living small. If chosen, I will contact you with further instructions.
I can’t wait to hear from you!
love,
melanie
Will I qualify? I live a small life compared to others around me ..1,000 sq foot house on 1/3 of an acre…you know just stating that make me know that I will not qualify…but I can’t wait to read about others…thanks soooo much for your blog/posts…LOVE them because they make me realize that despite the buy buy buy amass amass amass status status status world I live in, there are others ( meaning YOU) who are happy living a small life!! How about my classification will be “living a medium life”…. 🙂
Hey Emily, 1,000 square feet is much smaller than the average American home. If you can explain why you embody the small life and you have pictures that fit the qualifications, I’d feature your home. I wouldn’t consider more than 1,000 square feet small though.
cool!! I’m looking forward to this! We’ve lived in a 182 ft shed for a year. No internet, no phone, not entirely legal. We still live in a pretty small 538ft apartment, but now we have even room to work from home (sewing, painting, drawing plans) AND dry laundry at the same time..more than enough.
Wow, living in a shed? That sounds super interesting. I’d love to hear about it!
I just found your website and it is awesome! My fiance and I bought a 28′ airstream from my grandparents last summer. My fiance has lived in it since we bought it and I am planning to move in come February when my lease is up. We have some experience living small as we lived in his truck camper for a few months last winter while I was looking for employment. I love what you have done with your airstream! I can’t wait to read more and pick up some tips!
Kristen, thanks so much! We’d love to publish your story if you want to write updates for this site. Just shoot me an email asmalllifemelanie@gmail.com and we can talk.
