Why We Decided to Sell Our Airstream

We recently did a big refresh of the Airstream because… we’ve decided to sell it. For a long time I was holding on to the idea that we’d keep our Airstream as an AirBnB at our new house. But George and I did some soul-searching (as corny as that sounds) and we’ve decided that what’s best for us right now is to sell our Airstream.

I still love the old girl and there’s nothing wrong with her. We’ve just had a lot happen in our lives this year and we don’t feel like we can take on one more project at this time. If it was just a renovation project, we might consider it, but an AirBnB takes time and energy that we just don’t have right now.

Our first priority is our business. In the past year, George and I started an umbrella business for his art, our vintage sales and our new magazine. We also have a house that’s still very much in the renovation process.

A preview of the refresh

Our Airstream is still on George’s parent’s farm and the last time we went to visit, quite honestly, it made me sad. The Airstream is just sitting there unused and I don’t want her to waste away. At this point, I feel like keeping it is a disservice to her potential.

So, we decided to do a big ol’ refresh and sell the old girl. I hope it ends up going to someone that will love and cherish her the way that we did. I hope it helps someone else live the life of their dreams.

If you’re interested in buying our Airstream, you can reach out to me by email. Serious inquiries only, please. If you’re interested in living the Airstream life, there’s more information about that in my book.

Thank you all for following our journey these past five years. It’s been hard, and wild, and ugly, and beautiful. I’m so thankful for everything the Airstream and small living has given me. I’m still going to be writing here. My ultimate goal, as it always has been, is to live a small, happy, fulfilling life, I’ll just be doing it in a small house now. I hope you’ll still follow along.

I’ll be posting lots of pictures of the refresh later this week.

I am so grateful for you all. I am so grateful for this life.

I wish I lived in the continental U.S., I’d consider this in a heartbeat! Good luck with your sale. I am sure you will find a buyer who will love her as much as you did, especially with all the amazing improvements you did!
