Tuesday Thoughts: Success

success

I often have trouble defining myself as “successful.” I see other people my own age traveling the world, scrambling up the corporate ladder, opening their own businesses and living their dreams. I know that I shouldn’t compare myself to them, but I do. It’s so easy to get caught up in the usual standard for success– big house, nice car, extravagant vacations, etc. Instead, I’m trying to focus on defining success in terms of happiness. I have a happy marriage, the sweetest dog and a family that loves me. I’m still working on wanting just what I have, but I know that I have everything I truly need.

love,
melanie

If all of your markers for success have to do with friendships with other people and doing what you love, I think that truly defines success. It sounds like you live a pretty cool life to me! 🙂

I live in a 24ft motorhome with 3 rescue dogs.i grew up in a huge 3 story home where you’d walk through to see if u were the only one home ! rv is cozy, and you find yourself outdoors enjoying nature and friends.i can move easily from mountains to now 1 block from the ocean. I tow a car to get to work.i don’t have tv..but do play dvds when i want.i do have a storage unit which helps. It all comes down to if u want to work 40-60 hrs/week and can’t wait til vacation,or work less and live a vacation-no big bills so able to help others.small closets filled to attend formal vip events and walking beach or forest.Love the life and adventures ! 🙂
