When I made the decision 9 mos. ago to majorly downsize, which included selling my 1,200-sq-ft home, it was interesting to hear the reaction of family and friends. I was fortunate in that I’d already made quite a head start several years ago with eliminating what little “stuff” I had cluttering up my life. Most folks were supportive, even though some said they could NEVER do it themselves. 🙂

I now live in a 17-foot travel trailer with less than 100 sq. ft. of living space, and I have never been more content in my life. I have everything I need, with a few special doodads here & there, but more importantly, I have peace of mind, more time for hikes and walks on the nearby beach, & an uncluttered lifestyle. We’re all in this together, folks, & the degree of impact that humans choose to have on our precious planet has a profound effect on the other beings that call this place home as well. We’re all brothers & sisters, human or otherwise.

I can relate to Socrates’ wise words one-hundred percent. Thank you for sharing, Melanie!
