Perpetuating Positivity

moccasins

I’m not a naturally positive person. I’m not. I always imagine the worst case scenario. But I do try my the best to find the best in other people because I have no idea what that person is going through. I don’t. And I share a lot on this blog, but you don’t know what I’m going through either.

I try to be understanding and positive. Oh my do I try. I have a full-time job that centers around customer service and if I didn’t try to see the best in people, I’d run out of there screaming. I also spend a damn lot of time on this blog. I don’t make money from this endeavor. I’d love to do so, but for now I’m spreading my knowledge and sharing my life with you all for free. And man do I appreciate anyone who reads this little blog.

But lately I’ve been getting more and more negative comments. And I do appreciate a healthy debate, but I must say once and for all that negativity and just plain rudeness will not be tolerated on this blog. I hate that I even have to acknowledge these anonymous meanies, but this will be the only time I do so. Just because someone saves money differently or has different living standards or even eats a different diet doesn’t make it wrong. Things in life aren’t black and white. What works for me might not work for you. That’s cool. Start your own blog with your own discoveries. But I won’t approve your mean and nasty comments here. As we southerners say, “I will not tolerate ugly talk.” This blog is about perpetuating the positive and living a small, honest life.

Thank you to all my long-time readers. You bring joy to my life each and every day. I keep doing this because of you.

As always. With love,
melanie

Gee Melanie, I can’t comprehend why the negativity here at all. Meanness comes very easy for too many. I had my experiences while working at a library.. Customer service can be exhausting. You have a great blog so try to shrug off what the meanies want to say, and continue with what you are good at .

Unfortunately, Internet Trolls are alive and well… or not so well. 😛 I am sure that you do not need any reassurance that what you have shared on your blog is helpful, meaningful, and useful information for your readers. However, I will say that it is all that and more for me. I continue to learn a lot from your blog so keep the posts coming! I look forward to them daily. I agree that healthy debate is good for us all. I also agree that people do not have to spew vitriol in their comments. Nobody has time for that nonsense. Alas Melanie, you know “Haters Gonna Hate.” Anyway, I believe that when they “hate” on you, then you must be doing something right. 😉 Keep your chin up.

Sometimes in life we just have to ignore people with big mouths and little minds. Wouldn’t it be boring if we were all of the same opinion in life ? I for one, enjoy your blog and will continue to read it for as long as you enjoy writing it….keep sharing !

Couple things come to my mind this afternoon in regards to your post. ” No Good Shall Go Unpunished”. And you are doing a good thing my dear. I consider your posts a Blessing, a Gift. Not all know how to accept such things, appreciate such things, and can only respond by ‘negative’ thoughts and words. Pray for them that their lives will one day experience and exude the same positive and helpful spirit that your pages show. In other words, just Keep On Keepin On. Michael

Thanks, Michael. Your comment was incredibly touching. I will keep on keepin’ on.

I hate to hear that you’ve been getting negative feedback. It’s okay to disagree with someone, but there are always ways in which to do so without becoming ugly and hateful with our words. I for one love following your story. It is refreshing to me to know there are other people out there trying to live a purposeful life. Shall I join the rest here and say “keep on keeping on”? Lol! Anyway, it’s a good sentiment. 😉

Thanks! I am keeping on, but I can’t stand negativity. It’s not necessarily directed at me, but some people are just RUDE!
